How was the Mac cracked?
Back in March, I think, there was a "cracking" contest between Mac, Linux and Windows. The Mac was cracked in two minutes by a NSA guy. They weren't releasing any info about what vulnerability allowed this to happen, at the time, and I couldn't find it with a quick google. Does anyone know or have a link?

vermaden,
Those links show the announcement. The announcements only indicate what I said, they aren't telling how it was cracked. But that was in March and I'm wondering if it was ever told what happened. |

Accordingly, all participants agreed to keep the details undisclosed until all vendors were contacted and had enough time to patch the problem.
I believe it's up to the vendors to disclose information... not sure though, haven't been following the issue. |

Isn't Apple the one who still hasn't fixed the DNS issue?
(That could be wrong, do not take it as definite truth.) However, if it's correct, it might indicate a somewhat lackadaisical attitude. Sometimes, Apple seems to be overly impressed with itself. "We're Apple and you'll buy whatever we say if we say it's cool." |

They definitely could be a bit more.. open... during the fixing of bugs, they let the problem sit and mold awhile before they release an undocumented fix for the problem.
