1970? Linux isn't that old, it's barely legal... 2009 - 1991 = 18.

I was thinking maybe 1970 is Linus' birth year ... but a quick search gives a birthday of Dec 28, 1969. Maybe he didn't get the idea until a few days after that?

Default Possible role of Subverion as meta-port

From the freebsd-questions mailing list:

It seems you may have discovered the significance of the name:
it subverts the sysadmin's sanity. Maybe it can find practical
use as a meta-port for scripting languages, if someone cares to
add ruby to the mix

Linux is for people who hate Microsoft.
NetBSD is for people who hate OpenBSD.
OpenBSD is for people who hate everyone else.
I haven't yet figured out who FreeBSD is for.

I'm shocked someone even has to wonder who it's for.
FreeBSD is for those who love Unix, naturally. And all the rest are heathens and heretics.

Is quite a firm statement, perhaps this can describe the OpenBSD user a bit more;

OpenBSD is for ppl who can't stand crappy linux code, crappier windoz applications AND everything else that is not secure (by design), well documented and NON Unix-like based. This includes EVERYBODY that does NOT use OpenBSD, thus causing much hate for EVERYBODY else

I certainly am glad more ppl do NOT use OpenBSD, there would be less ppl to hate?

I bought several kilo's of DVD's and books today, I got a E150 coupon for Christmas from work ...

Anyway, one DVD I got was Office Space, in one scene at the start you see a guy working on what is obviously the classic MacOS, but when he shuts it down it goes to a C:> prompt ...

That website is even worse then the fuchsia coloured chinese peripherals manufacture that Gateway rehashed my desktops keyboard from, You're right, worst site in the world, or it's pretty darn close.

It even hung Firefox 3.6 when closing the tab, once the music started in mplayer. *shivers*

For the longest time Yahoo ran a service called Geocities, this unfortunately ran on FreeBSD servers.

I still have nightmares about GIF animations and page under construction banners.
