Lightbulb DVD file read error

Hello to all,
I tried to play my DVD in VLC but nothing happend. So I tried to read this DVD and I discovered that files from this DVD couldn't be read. When I tried to read this DVD in Windows VLC, no problem was found (DVD plays well) ... Is it possible that unix DVD reader driver is not correct (doesn't support all file system types reading)? Or does this problem depend on my DVD mechanic (Samsung DRW SH-S203N, 20xD ±R, SATA, LightS)?
Thank you for your answers and ideas!
