Default OpenBSD networking section?

Would it be possible to include a new section under OpenBSD for networking?

Considering the heavy usage of OpenBSD as a firewall, router, L3 switch, etc. I always found that on "that other site" the security section just wasn't cutting it. It's OK for PF questions, but that's about it.

On that "other site" I would find networking questions in either the security or general section...

And considering the heavy contribution of the OpenBSD project to networking in general- ospfd, openbgpd, carp, relayd and more, it just seems right for a separate section.

Can we please? Please with a cherry on top?

Perhaps, but not until the OpenBSD General and OpenBSD Security forums are overrun with networking questions. There's not much point in adding a bunch of sub-forums if they aren't going to get used.

I don't think a subforum like this would go underused at all.

In fact, I was going to post a how-to on a simple site-to-site VPN connection I just put together for my day job... and post it there.

Peter_APIIT's questions alone on networking (DHCP, PF, routing, NAT, etc.) could fill it's own subsection lol.

I think on "that other site" the networking questions didn't seem too numerous specifically because they were split amongst two subsections not dedicated to it.

Regardless of what happens I'm sure I'll enjoy my stay here... but it would be nice to see it's own section. What's the worst that could happen? You could be proven right over time, and lump the posts into one of those two categories.

And OpenSSH. Most important of all.

Well, this should be posted in the guides section, you can always put stuff like that in a FAQ thread at the top of each forum...

Maybe we should create a Peter_APIIT forum then...

Anyway,

I agree with phoenix ... We'll just wait at least a few weeks and see how everything goes first ...
