Can you say more about this? I'm sure there are other users like me who don't really know what dtrace is/what the implications of it being available for us are.

Hehe... I'm not an expert on this either but I know its a very important tool that can trace application calls for troubleshooting and debugging; I think its similar, but more powerful, to FreeBSD's 'truss' utility. I'm going to cop out on this and provide the Wikipedia explanation of DTrace
