Default Inquery: status of wpa in -CURRENT?

What is the state of (if any) of WPA support in OpenBSD -CURRENT?

---
I ask because quite simply, I don't follow it (just releases/patches) and aside from necessity I wouldn't try unless I had time to 'do it right'. I may be stuck with having the machine connected via wireless and that means trouble.

I have an old HP Vli8 500 running OpenBSD 4.3-Release which has had it's hard drives moved to a salvaged Dell Dimension 4500 case and associated motherboard of the week (knowing Dell). If I can get one on a wire, one of those cases will probably get split off as a Linux box but it's not a sure thing.

The problem is, we just changed ISP/Phone providers by bundling cable/phone/internet with our cable... Until the land lines are sorted out I need to have the phone line hooked up to one of our modems which is currently doing nothing else but eating space and ringing the phone.

With due luck I'll be able to shuffle stuff around and get the system back on a wired connection but at the moment, I'd like to enjoy the new speedy cable before I start mucking with further setup..... if I can't get that arrangement (bloody positioning in a very small room), I'll need to live with wireless for this OpenBSD system (which I would really rather not).

I hope I won't but I am the kind of person who prefers to have all bases covered.

Wireless access here uses WPA-PSK because it's just the most convenient solution available (at least for the past few years) even though I have no attachment to it.

I know there are probably more appealing options for wireless security but the ease of setting XP to auto-connect to it with the PSK makes my life much easier... I'm the only dipstick here who knows how it works, let along how to tell XP to connect and time to X-Ray other options ain't economical right now.

Oddly I seem to have the most secure network within range of the aerials.

(should anyone advise it)

While using one of the encrypted neighbors in range would make life easier until I can get the box back on a wire, I would consider that networked B&E and just as morally wrong as the physical form :-(

If I seem eraddic or illogical tonight, ~two hours sleep, lots of work, stress, etc and surviving on sugar!!! Will tend to do that to you after awhile.

WPA is functional in CURRENT for some time now: http://undeadly.org/cgi?action=artic...20080416195151

It worked OK with bwi(4), malo(4), ral(4), iwn(4), wpi(4), ural(4), rum(4), upgt(4), and zyd(4) chipsets but that's April news... it should cover many more chipsets by now.

Correct, WPA-PSK is all that's supported.. it was imported a few months back, I think it'll be in the 4.4 release. (If not for all chipsets, most..).
