Default potential noise reduction coming to macppc port

A topic which seems to reoccur on both misc@ & ppc@ mailing lists is discussions on loud fans on older Apple hardware. Below is a proposed change currently being discussed on tech@:

http://marc.info/?t=138402585700006&r=1&w=2

Note that all tech@ discussions don't necessarily result in CVS commits. The purpose of tech@ is to discuss posted code proposals. This gives the astute the chance to consider all ramifications of proposed code changes before taking further action.

The proposed patch is to include the fcu(4) driver and its dependencies in the bsd.rd RAMDISK kernel, to permit upgrades and installs to be a little quieter. As of a couple of hours ago, it had not yet been committed.

These are the words you should be focusing upon, daemonfowl. There is no guarantee at this point, that changes will be incorporated into any future build.

All that is currently taking place is discussion.
