Regards Philippe |

change your PKG_PATH
Hello Philippe,
why don't you use the official path for the installation of your packages? I would recommend: export PKG_PATH=http://ftp.netbsd.org/pub/pkgsrc/packages/NetBSD/amd64/7.0_RC3/All/ pkg_add -v pkgin echo $PKG_PATH > /usr/pkg/etc/pkgin/repositories.conf pkgin update And then try it again: pkgin install kde Good luck, blackcat |

Hi blackcat,
i've installed kde4 with pkgin, but it doesn't want to install kdm ! I use this export pkg_ path >> http://ftp.fr.netbsd.org/pub/pkgsrc/....0_2015Q2/All/, but Kdm not fount in the repositories ! what can i do ? Regards Philippe |
|

pkgfind -P kdm
It seems kdm is in kde-baseapps4 package, but in tastylime.net package repository it doesn't appear. So I am afraid that you will have to build from pkgsrc yourself |

Bonjour Philippe,
you are quite right. I also couldn't find kdm in the repository. I have only found with: pkgin search "display manager" xdm and gdm. Maybe xdm as a general display manager for Xorg is an alternative for you. Or is it possible to start the kde desktop environment directly from your console with: startx /usr/pkg/bin/kde4 (startx /path/to/your/kde-metapackage) Sorry that i can't give you a better advice, i seldom use any desktop environment. I prefer lightweight window managers like fluxbox , mcwm , lwm or dwm. Au revoir, blackcat |

Ouch, i have forgotten one of my favorite window managers:
ratpoison! Yes of course. Miau, blackcat |

Last but not least
Hey Philippe, update your pkgsrc to 2015Q3! cd /usr/pkgsrc cvs update -dP Then compile kde4 from source code: cd /usr/pkgsrc/meta-pkgs/kde4 sudo make install clean clean-depends sudo make distclean And now you have kde4 probably with (like pygope said) kdm. |
