Default Internet Access Problem OpenBSD 4.3

Hi, I am facing a strange problem with my OpenBSD 4.3 .

After getting the network setup right, I am successfully able to get responses for my ping requests to various sites.

However, other than that, I am unable to do any downloading or browsing(through Lynx). Also, nslookup queries take forever to display results and mostly they are negative.

Any ideas what might be happening and how to go around solving this problem ?
Thanks.

We're not psychics; all we can tell from the information you've provided so far is that your network allows pings (ICMP ECHO requests and responses). Your delay with nslookup might be due to misconfigured reverse DNS per FAQ 8.22. Then again, it might not.

If you want help from us, you'll have to provide more information. Examples:
  • The contents of /etc/resolv.conf
  • The output of $ route -n show -inet
  • An ascii "graphic" of your local network configuration if applicable
  • Your PF firewall configuration if applicable
Be sure to redact any private IP addresses / DNS names.

Cool, will surely get that information for you, just that I have never had to deal with anything like that before, on my linux machines. Guess I had some wrong assumptions about general networking issues.

Thanks for the help. Will get back to this.

We don't know enough, yet; your assumptions may be correct.
