Default Which PEAR?

Hi everyone
Right now I am looking for the port PEAR which is for PHP5. I noticed that there are TONS of PEAR related ports under /usr/ports/devel and even for php there's about 5 -7.

My question is: If I want the most basic PEAR port, where do I find it?

I am learning PHP from scratch and my book suggests installing PEAR to access MYSQL.

Probably devel/pear.

I'm not familiar with PEAR, but for MySQL I would guess probably databases/pear-DB would be the goal.
