Default [SOLVED] Memory cache

How to clean/clear cache in memory?
Hot to make cache to be stored in swap?

Also (not related), how to disable dam memory dump, when app crashes?

Can you explain what you're asking in more detail? (Perhaps an example?)

# echo 'kern.coredump=0' >> /etc/sysctl.conf

Upon reboot, no more coredumps. (To avoid a reboot you can run sysctl with that same parm/value.)

Are you talking about kernel virtual memory cache, used for example to decrease accessing harddisk while reading from memory is much more eficient and faster? That cache get automatically overwritten when system needs more memory.
Storing/Moving it to swap device (much slower) is clueless ...

Explore vm.* sysctl variables.
