Question sysctl ddb.console - not permitted?

Slightly confused. I had a crash to ddb on my Beagle Bone Black and on reading the "how to report crashes" page it recommended setting ddb.console=1 to put kernel panics to the console.

However:

Code:
# sysctl ddb.console=1
sysctl: ddb.console: Operation not permitted
 # sysctl |grep ddb.console
ddb.console=0
I'm typing this logged in as root on the console...?

This is 5.8.

OpenBSD 5.8 has not been tagged yet in CVS. Issuing the command:

$ sysctl kern.version

...will tell you the version & flavor of OpenBSD installed.

man 7 securelevel

You can't increase the ddb values in the default securelevel.

Tim.
