Wireless - Realtek 8192SE - OpenBSD 6.6

Hi to all, I installed OpenBSD 6.6 on an old Thinkpad 13 Edge.
Ethernet connection is working, all clear, can not wait to get my hands on man afterboot.

The problem - I have an old wireless card, Realtek 8192SE, not in rsu or rtwn firmware. Is there any way I can get the wireless card working?

Unfortunately, "not configured" is kernel-speak for "there is no driver for this hardware."

You could try -current, but I didn't see anything in the Changelogs since 6.6 that mentions this device.

A USB-attached WiFi dongles is the only WiFi alternative.

I've successfully replaced the mini pci-e cards in the past, but if you encounter hardware whitelisting, which many of these vendors use, you will have wasted your time and money.

USB is the better option, but you will need to be sure you buy a supported device. The first step is to ensure you have read the man pages for the common wifi chip drivers, as there is usually a list of supported hardware there, along with any caveats or other problems with particular devices.

HP and Lenovo are notorious for whitelisting hardware but it can usually be worked around cheaply.
My HP Stream 14 came with an Realtek wifi/bluetooth card that presently is not supported by OpenBSD.

An internet search showed that some HP streams came with an intel card. I bought the same model # intel card, pulled from an HP laptop, on Ebay for ~$7USD.

You should be able to do the same thing.
