It's also possible that the change could get reverted at the last moment, before 5.0 is tagged in CVS.
Hopefully that won't happen. |

For those wondering if these changes to BIGMEM will be available in May when OpenBSD 4.9-release is scheduled to be released, the answer is "no".
This work is being done in -current which will eventually become OpenBSD 5.0-release slated for release in November 2011. The code base for OpenBSD 4.9-release was frozen mid-February 2011. |
