Default Sysupgrade with full disk encryption

Hello,

I have just installed a snapshot of OpenBSD with full disk encryption. But now I have a problem with the upgrade process. sysupgrade does download the files correctly after which the computer reboots. The upgrade files are recognized during boot but the upgrade process gets stuck:

Code:
...
softraid0 at root
scsibus1 at softraid0: 256 targets
sd1 at scsibus1 targ 1 lun 0: <OPENBSD, SR CRYPTO, 006>
sd1: 228941 MB, 512 bytes/sector, 468872498 sectors
root on rd0a swap on rd0b dumb on rd0b
erase ^?, werase ^W, kill ^U, intr ^C, status ^T

Welcome to OpenBSD/amd64 6.9 installation program.
Performing non-interactive uprgrade...
Choose your keyboard layout ('?' or 'L' for list) [default] default
Available disks are: sd1.
Which disk is the root disk? ('?' for details) [sd1] sd1
Checking root filesystem (fsck -fp /dev/sd1a)... ok.
Mounting root filesystem (mount -o ro /dev/sd1a /mnt)... ok.
After that nothing happens. I don’t even know how to get back to my desktop because it tries to upgrade… My suspicion is that this has to do the disk encryption. Does anybody got an idea how to resolve this issue?

It shouldn't be caused by encryption. I use sysupgrade with FDE and merely need to enter my passphrase after each boot.

To boot normally and stop the upgrade, force the selection of /bsd or /bsd.booted at the boot> prompt.

I also have a full disk encryption but don't use the sysupgrade tool.
As pointed out by jggimi you could interrupt the boot process.
Then you can type bsd.rd and upgrade manually.
Hopefully you'll be able to see what the problem is. You can interrupt the upgrade process via Ctrl C and get a shell.

With bsd.booted I could boot again into my desktop. After deleting /home/_sysupgrade and /bsd.upgrade I am back to normal.

Maybe the problem was that I wanted to upgrade fresh snapshot. If sysupgrade won’t work later I will try the manual upgrade process. Thank you both.
