How do I display icons in Thunar? (solved)
I installed Thunar and it runs fine but the only icon displayed looks like a plain sheet of paper with the top-left corner folded inward. I installed the xfce4-icon-theme port but Thunar still displays just the one icon. People make icon packs so there has to be a way to use them, although I am at a loss to how it is done.
There is a port called gtk-xfce-engine and its description is "An XFCE engine for GTK 2" but I interpreted that as a way for a GTK-based system to use XFCE themes, which I am not doing, so I have not installed it. If it makes any difference my system is GTK-based using Openbox as the window manager. Last edited by troberts; 15th September 2008 at 07:13 PM. |

I noticed the .icons folder in my home directory so I decided to try putting an icons group in there and it worked.

You can put the following line in ~/.gtkrc-2.0
Code:
gtk-icon-theme-name="Themename" mousaka |
