Post Your dmesg, please. Let's see if system can see Your card. If it misses firmware, segfaults itself or sth like that, dmesg is mandatory...

BTW. I can see that some people on the Net claim that it works with regular iwn driver. Check this out as well.

Everything seems to be fine here... Your card is properly identified, so... what really seems to be a problem?
BTW. Post dmesg form FreeBSD. If Your card is problematic under one particular BSD distribution, than dmesg from the other one won't clarify anything, dude ;-)

Although the *BSD family has similar roots (but they didn't all descend from the same parent version...), each of the projects have been in existence for nearly twenty years. Each has diverged quite a bit from the others in this time frame. dmesg(8) output will not be the same between any two members.

You might want to try running the live version of FreeBSD and checking to see if it works before you actually commit to installing it. If it doesn't, WiFi cards are pretty cheap - I bought an Intel 2195 dual-band/tri-mode card for like $1.99 on Amazon and it works perfectly with everything I've tried it with.
