OSS , playing a sound via command line..
I'm familiar with aplay in regards to also and I was wondering if it's possible to play a sound via the command line with OSS ?

Cheers for the replies. It's actually to produce the notification sounds in Pidgin. Gstreamer is an option during compiling but It seems a lot to pull in just for this instance.
I'll look up ossplay... cheers again. |

Well I would'nt put it past me to overlook this fact, so if someones knows any better then let me know.
However, i've used the program in linux and it plays sound by default. ( and dmix/ aplay %s ) . When using Piding in FreeBSD though , I cant seem to get any output by default. Adding mplayer to the sound options work so thats the option I'll go for. Cheers for the help ^^ |
