Default Google Authenticator?

I've found various recipes on the net for adding support for Google Authenticator for Linux, FreeBSD, etc. but they're all PAM-based.

I see OpenBSD's BSD Authentication supports several types of authenticators including YubiKey but I don't see Google listed.

I'm curious if anyone has worked on this/thought about this/tinkered with this. If not...well, writing a new authentication method might be fun :-)
