Since you asked, I got to exercise my research muscles again.
A scan through the most recent Changelog showed lots of -current changes to fdisk for EFI booting, but going back one Changelog I found this log entry for revision 1.73 of /usr/src/sbin/fdisk/fdisk.c: Code:
CVSROOT: /cvs Module name: src Changes by: krw@cvs.openbsd.org 2015/07/08 17:44:56 Modified files: sbin/fdisk : fdisk.c Log message: Do not attempt to read a disk sector worth of data from the file containing the MBR template. Most especially don't get upset when the 512-byte file does not contain a full 4096 byte disk sector. Allows 4096-byte disks to be fdisk'ed once more. Problem reported and fix tested by Gerald Hanuer via bugs@. ok deraadt@ http://marc.info/?t=143627676600001&r=1&w=2 Last edited by jggimi; 4th October 2015 at 02:02 PM. Reason: typo |
