hi

howto install the driver (module) for wireless chipset Ralink RT2860 on freeBSD 7.0 ?

Looking through cvsweb, there is no support for the rt2860 in FreeBSD. There's work being done in Perforce to support the chip, but nothing in the main source tree.

OpenBSD has support for it, though.

thx a lot, but does the current release OpenBSD 4.3 support rt2860 ?

There is certainly initial support for it.. ral(4) mentions the chipset.

Note; 4.3 will only be the current release for the next.. 3 days.. 4.4 is due out on November 1st.

4.4 is already branched and CD's have already started being delivered to people who pre-ordered (As indicated on the mailing lists..)

November 1st is just the date when they "officially" acknowledge the existence of it, update their website, and start updating their mirrors.

They're always punctual, at least.. have been for quite some time, amazing considering their financial problems.

Yes. You can pretty much set your calendar using OpenBSD releases.

howto modifie the kernel file from FreeBSD 8.0-CURRENT to include the five 'device' lines for Ralink?
