Default Mailserver for websites

Hi all,

I've got web server that handles 4 different sites and on these sites I've got a contact form for sending emails.
What software and steps do I need to take in order to to get these sites to send emails?
I've never set up a mail server before so I'm not sure what to do. Right now I've got Postfix installed, but I haven't configured it yet.

Tip: make sure that the IP address of your webserver has reverse DNS.

To fight spam most mail administrators configured their mail servers not to accept mail from servers which don't have a reverse DNS (IP address --> symbolic name).

First you must get configured your smtp server to deliver mail the right way, postfix it's good, in this case it's very simple to setup. Search for some tut on the net. Next you must install php, for example , and program/copy a simple form ( there are many already made in internet ) for sending mails.
This is an easy task, if you need more help just ask. Sorry beforehand because my english it's scarce and maybe I missunderstood your question.

One thing to be careful of, undercoverdaemon, is old discussions. Look at the date, above:
