Sound Problem.
Hi.
For some reason I can't use the software volume on my programs - Mplayer, Xmms & audacious. My sound card is working (read the faq on setting up the sound-card) Un-muted everything and set the correct volume levels.. I have to control the sound volume from the speakers, a bit of a hassle since my speakers aren't within reaching distance. Any idea how to fix this? TIA.. P.S. I installed the audacious-plugins, still no luck.. |

Can you provide us with the output from the following command?:
Code:
mixer |

volume levels.. As far as I know there is no mixer in OpenBSD like in FreeBSD. At least I did not find anyone. Enter mixerctl and look for muted channels, maybe you have enable some more. http://www.openbsd.org/cgi-bin/man.c...86&format=html

Off topic, but there is a sound server in OpenBSD -current, enabling the use of multiple sound sources. A "mixer", by some definitions:
