Question Suddenly no sound (Thinkpad x220 running -current)

Hi,

I'm running -current off of a snapshot I installed dated 12 July 2015 on a Thinkpad x220. I had working sound before, but now seem to have lost it. I'm not 100% certain it was the last snapshot that killed it off because I really don't use sound that much.

I'd appreciate some help from the folks here if you don't mind. I'll try to provide as much diagnostic information as I can up front but please feel free to ask for more.

Thanks in advance for any and all suggestions!

Things occasionally break in current and a new build was performed July 13 at the master site. I would update to the latest snapshot first and if it is still not functioning, go through the debugging described in FAQ 13 and report the results to the misc mailing list at misc@openbsd.org.

Just to cover all the bases, are you using speakers or headphones? The hp boost is off in your mixerctl.
I'm not familiar with the x220, could it have an external mute switch that is hard wired?

Thank you Shep. I will update to latest & greatest this morning and try the debugging you suggest if that doesn't cure it. I rebooted to Arch on the same hardware and the sound was working so I think the hardware itself is ok FWIW.

As always, thanks to the folks on here who are helping me learn and get more self-sufficient!

Thanks all! Moving to the latest snapshot solved my problem.
