What's up with O'Reilly Network?
This is my moment to rant, or at least publicly show frustration.
I have respected & frequented O'Reilly Network for several years. The quality of technical information there has been more complete & consistent than on most other sites, & it was reasonably organized by sections -- Networking, Perl, Python, Databases, XML, BSD, etc. However in returning today to poke about, I find a new presentation format: http://www.oreillynet.com/pub/q/articles ...which is simply unusable. Not to be a Luddite pining for the days of old, but this new slick magazine format is ghastly at best. It's difficult to find any of the old sections, let alone older articles. I know that maintaining such a site has to be costly & time-consuming, but has anyone found any information describing what is going on? This can't be progress... |
