Default spam spam spam

i just registered her today and i noticed that you do not have to confirm your email address. i would imagine this could lead to big spam problem, much like what happened at bsdforums.org... since you do not have to verify your account and you can register with a fake email address. just a thought.

Using validation emails as a spam-stoppers stopped being effective years ago ... Getting a bot to respond to validation emails is trivial.

Now if the same people could be paid to make a bot to respond to spam, playing both ends against the middle.


They would be twice as rich and us much less spammed for at least 10 minutes <_<

How about logic validation?
I remember on some forums they asked for 4+5, or what color is this text... etc....
(just a thought)


P.S. force ppl to complete IQ test.... if it's below some value (let say 60), then .... he he he, failed to register (j/k)

Here's a one question IQ test that would work:

"Which 'Service Pack' version number is installed on your BSD system?"

That would block all those with IQs below 60 and all Windows users.
