Default Virtualization Software

What are the options? I'm thinking we're rather limited.

Xen 3.3 @ NetBSD (get NetBSD 5 BETA)
QEMU @ other BSDs (OpenBSD,NetBSD,FreeBSD) use with KQEMU accelrator
Bochs @ other BSDs (its emulator actually, like QEMU without KQEMU accelrator)
VMware 3 @ FreeBSD is DEPRACTED

... about OS level virtualization, FreeBSD has Jails, havent checked about NetBSD and OpenBSD here.

Linux is not UNIX! Face it! It is not an insult. It is fact: GNU is a recursive acronym for “GNU's Not UNIX”.

If you look at Mac OS X, however, it gets a little better. There's VMware, Parallels, and I think VirtualBox.

I'm hoping that there will be a port of VirtualBox for FreeBSD soon, though.
(They are making one, aren't they??)

If we count other systems here, then I would go for OpenSolaris which offers xVM (Xen 3.1 fork) and VirtualBox (along with typical OS level Solaris virtualization like Zones and Containers of course).

I've used OpenSolaris, but I don't want to reinstall anything. It's mainly for a couple of windows programs that I need. For the time being I'll stick with Wine and work on the Virtualbox port, but I need to get a FreeBSD implementation guide for that as I haven't done hardware side programming yet.
