could not look up internet address for .lan
Hi all,
I installed xfce as a desktop environment. Everything works fine, except that at startup of xfce I always get a message: Quote:
How can I fix this? My /etc/hosts contains 2 lines: Code:
::1 localhost localhost.my.domain 127.0.0.1 localhost localhost.my.domain Thanks in advance for a reply. |

/etc/hosts should be set by default from sysinstall when you have installed FreeBSD, unless you haven't configured your NIC during install.
You haven't set the hostname of the system in /etc/hosts Usually use this form of setting the hostname of the system in /etc/hosts Code:
<ip_address> <hostname.domain> <hostname> <ip_address> <hostname>. Code:
10.35.1.90 lan.mydomain lan 10.35.1.90 lan.mydomain.
