Default NetBSD 5.0.1 can't see my Atheros card

Dear Friends:

I just installed NetBSD 5.0.1 on my machine but unfortunately it cannot recognize my wireless card and does not create the ath0 device node.
Does anybody have a similar hardware?

Thank you for your help!

The dmesg is attached.

If you look closely at your dmesg, you'll see this:
Atheros Communications product 0x002a (miscellaneous network, revision 0x01) at pci5 dev 0 function 0 not configured

That product number indicates that it uses an AR9281-based chipset, according to ath(4) the ath9xxx family is not supported by NetBSD (..or OpenBSD, FreeBSD either).

Perhaps a BSD implementation for these chipsets will surface eventually, until then you'll have to use another wireless card.

Hi, thank you for your prompt reply!

I just tried installing FreeBSD on this machine and it recognizes the card perfectly.
I love all the BSDs and was just curious to try NetBSD.
(By the way, also OpenBSD doe not support it - I just tried the latest snapshot).

I will wait until my card is supported to try Open and Net, or perhaps by a new one.

Thank you anyway for your time!

I just wanted to add, it seems OpenBSD has some initial support for newer ath9k devices now.. but it's a W.I.P!
