Java port disabled in -current
A check-in to source-changes@ today states that the official port of Java will now be disabled in i386:
http://marc.info/?l=openbsd-cvs&m=139206645609034&w=2 Running Java applications on amd64 is an alternative. Java users on -current should consider this before upgrading. Also, those running -current should be reading through the Following -current document whenever considering installing/updating -current systems. I think I should clarify.
This patch added comments regarding Java status to the Following -current FAQ. Ports that are marked $BROKEN are not normally mentioned in this document. However, the Following -current FAQ is used as the source of entries for the next -release Upgrade Guide, and is my belief that the comment was added to the FAQ to ensure it is included in the 5.5 Upgrade Guide when developed. |
