*BSD support for solid state disks?
Hello,
O.K., so they're very expensive right now, but I have a hunch that in the next 2-3 years they will start to become competitive with traditional hard drives. And in the next 5-10 they may displace traditional hard drives as the standard disk storage on a workstation. With that in mind, how well does *BSD support solid state disks?

Well, how well does BSD support flash devices? it varies.. most SSD devices are ATA/SATA compliant.. so assuming they're well designed, they should be supported today.
Some advice: "Try it out", it's almost impossible to know how somethings going to perform without actually testing it. |
