acpiconf -s3/-s4 lock up the system.
Hi all, I'm trying to get my newly build computer to suspend/stand-by.
I'm using acpiconf, the output of Code:
sysctl -a | grep acpi | grep supported However all that happens is the system locks up when I use these. The screen is on, nothing shuts down the system just hangs. What may be causing this? Cheers. |

I've never tried either (my laptop also supports S3-5) on FreeBSD or on any of my past machines...
I'm sure this is a very *_stupid_* question, but how do you wake up the system?

Not a stupid question at all I was wondering that myself. Perhaps pressing the power button again or holding down keys?

That would make sense, although my laptops sysctl's make it sound as if pushing the power button should tell the kernel I want it to go to S5 (soft-off) not S3... but that looks changeable with another sysctl ;-)
