Why does the opera need linux emulation ?
Code:
$make search key=opera ... Port: opera-10.11p2 ... R-deps: emulators/fedora/base Sincerely! |
|
||||
Because there is NATIVE version of Opera for FreeBSD while the is not for OpenBSD, so You can either use FreeBSD compatibility or Linux compatibility on OpenBSD to have working Opera.

Is freebsd emulation still supported? |

No, it was pulled after 4.9. From the cvsweb attic:
Code:
Revision 1.21 Tue Apr 5 12:50:15 2011 UTC (11 months, 2 weeks ago) by guenther Branches: MAIN CVS tags: HEAD FILE REMOVED Changes since revision 1.20: +2 -2 lines Push COMPAT_FREEBSD in front of a whale. Buggy, out of date, no one has been weeding it, and it makes life harder. Toasts of Brennivin for its passing from many; diff ok henning@ |

Thank you - I figured it was pulled, couldn't find a reference that it was.

The relevant manpage had been compat_freebsd(8). It is no longer present nor is anything returned from the following:
$ man -k freebsd
