Default Cannot mount (NTFS)

Hi,

I have a Windows HD and have been trying to mount it in OpenBSD.
Code:
# mount /dev/wd0i /mnt/winhdd
mount_ntfs: /dev/wd0i on /mnt/winhdd: Operation not supported
# mount -r /dev/wd0i /mnt/winhdd
mount_ntfs: /dev/wd0i on /mnt/winhdd: Operation not supported
I'm new to Unixes in general, so I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong. Here's my fstab:
Code:
/dev/wd1a / ffs rw 1 1
/dev/wd1g /home ffs rw,nodev,nosuid 1 2
/dev/wd1d /tmp ffs rw,nodev,nosuid 1 2
/dev/wd1f /usr ffs rw,nodev 1 2
/dev/wd1e /var ffs rw,nodev,nosuid 1 2
I tried adding this line to fstab:
Code:
/dev/wd0i /mnt/winhdd ntfs r 1 2
However, I still cannot mount the disk and on boot I receive several instances of this: "fstab: /etc/fstab: Inappropriate file type or format"

Here's some information that may or may not be helpful (I can't tell what's what, to be honest). disklabel:

Your dmesg(8) output shows that you are using the default 4.3 kernel. By default, OpenBSD does not provide NTFS support, but does offer a driver which provides NTFS support on an experimental basis. This however will require enabling the option in /usr/src/sys/arch/i386/conf/GENERIC, & recompilation of the kernel. For more information, see Section 14.16 of the FAQ:

The fact that the mount_ntfs utility exists in base confuses people, but as ocicat said, you still need to recompile the kernel with the NTFS option.

It's considered experimental though.. it's definitely not being actively worked on(In tree.. anyway.), most recent commits were removal of obsolete NetBSD clauses and RCSID macro fluff.

Recompiling a kernel is definitely beyond my capabilities, at least for the moment. Thank for letting me know; I'll just live without NTFS support (it's not like there's anything important on that drive I can't get to through Windows).

The FAQ covers building the kernel in quite some detail in Section 5.3:

http://openbsd.org/faq/faq5.html#Bld

If whenever you decide to tackle compilation, you can post questions here. Even if you don't attempt recompilation, you can post other OpenBSD questions here too.
