I don't know if OpenSolaris includes a compiler by default or not. I belive on Solaris 10 you have to install the "developer" set to get compilers (because, really, why would most production unix servers need compilers if it's a DB or mail server?). You may want to look into this.

if you have all the dev tools installed gcc can be found in /usr/sfw/bin, so make sure that you add it to your path.

also, sun studio express is a free download.

Yea for the SParc not for the Amd64 plat form.

Code:
/bin/sh[1]: cd: irc: [No such file or directory]
/bin/sh[1]: cd: ui: [No such file or directory]
/bin/sh[1]: cd: textui: [No such file or directory]
make[3]: *** [all-local] Error 1
make[3]: Leaving directory `/export/home/psmith/Desktop/irssi-0.8.12/src/perl'
make[2]: *** [all-recursive] Error 1
make[2]: Leaving directory `/export/home/psmith/Desktop/irssi-0.8.12/src'
make[1]: *** [all-recursive] Error 1
make[1]: Leaving directory `/export/home/psmith/Desktop/irssi-0.8.12'
make: *** [all] Error 2
Any clues on trouble shooting this error message?
