Default ports via cvs

Hello again
One more question here..
I've installed 5.6 release and ports from ftp.
And now i did
Code:
cvs -qd anoncvs@anoncvs.ca.openbsd.org:/cvs get -rOPENBSD_5_6 -P ports
So it means that now ill get Stable ports tree.
Should i now do the same with my src and xenocara ? Or i can run release build with stable ports tree?

  • The -stable branch is -release, plus errata patches, plus any additional patches which may not have been published as errata. Because these changes are very limited in scope, with no interface changes to any system calls or libraries, you can mix -release packages with the -stable OS, or -stable packages with a -release OS.
  • It is a best practice to use either -stable or -release+errata rather than -release for any system placed into production, as -releases typically include published errata on Day 1. The -current branch can also be used in production, and often is, though appropriate risk management (and level of OS experience) needs to be considered.
