And even if there were any issues, they are pached with new BIOS easily: http://drivers.softpedia.com/get/BIO...Bios-104.shtml

When I got my first 64-bit AMD processor a couple years back, I looked into 64-bit distros of Linux. I decided against it because of the large lack of support and available packages for 64-bt. That problem is shrinking every day, but (at least in Linux-land) it still isn't quite there and there is a lot of programs that don't have a 64-bit version yet (whether that can be fixed with a simple recompile, I'm not certain).
I suspect that as time goes on, I will eventually switch to a 64-bit OS (probably dual-boot 64 and 32 for a while during the transition), but for now I'll stick with 32. As a question, what issues - if any - did those who now use 64-bit OS's experience when they transitioned? Does a 64-bit OS, supposedly more fully utilizing the CPU, add to energy usage and heat output?
