I also have 'that' in ~/.Xdefaults file:
Code:
Xft.antialias:  true
Xft.hinting:    true
Xft.hintstyle:  0
Xft.dpi:        75
Xft.rgba:       rgb

By default, in NetBSD anti-aliasing works out-of-the-box without any tweaking. The problem might be related to this (Opera implementation problem). Have you tried this search?

vermaden & classicmanpro - thanks guys for your help!

I will have a look at your proposals this evening when I'm back home from work.

@classicmanpro

Yes, I didn't had any probs with antialiasing until I installed Opera. All other applications like the Gnome desktop use antialiased fonts.

In Firefox I had to switch on a feature that allows websites to use their own fonts instead of my selected fonts. But this feature didn't exist in Opera (as far as I can see).

Sorry guys, nothing helped - think I will rely on the Firefox.
