Default /usr/local/etc/periodic does not exist ???

Hi guys!

When i exploring /etc/defaults/periodic.conf i noticed that "periodic script dirs" is:

Quote:
local_periodic="/usr/local/etc/periodic"
but my system doesn't have this folder

Quote:
--$ file /usr/local/etc/periodic
/usr/local/etc/periodic: cannot open `/usr/local/etc/periodic' (No such file or directory)
Can i change this path to /etc/periodic ?

This directory is created and used by the portaudit port. It's not a problem if it doesn't exist, because there is no reason to do anything with it unless portaudit is installed. You can leave that setting alone, because /etc/periodic is already implied.

And if you ever decide to start writing your own scripts for use with the periodic system, you should put them under /usr/local/etc/periodic, and leave /etc/periodic for the scripts that ship with the system.

It's not just for portaudit, there are other ports that use it. Such as pgsql and bsdstats.
