Default X session errors

First off, thanks to the mods for accepting my request to join the forum. I'm a definite novice with OpenBSD, so having access to a place like this will be a great help.

The issue I'm currently dealing with is a raft of errors that show up each time I logout from X. I'm running 5.9 using XCFE4, which I start from the console. Each time I log out to return to the console, I find a whole list of errors. Below is a typical example (it's different each time depending on what applications I use while XFCE is up):

Code:

The last part, following the bit about rhythmbox, occurs pretty much constantly. Can anyone give me a hint as to what's going on here?

Here's my dmesg:

Hello and welcome!

I can only guess about the errors, which might be how running applications are terminated when you "shutdown" XFCE. My guess is, "not cleanly."

However, I notice you are using the GENERIC kernel, rather than GENERIC.MP. GENERIC is a single cpu kernel You are using only one thread and only one core. You'll need to build and use the GENERIC.MP to be able to use more than one cpu: one core, one thread. GENERIC.MP is the multiprocessor kernel.

If Hyper-threading is enabled on your hardware, you will be able to use 4 threads, which will appear as logical cpus: cpu0 through cpu3. If Hyper-threading is disabled, you will have access to both cores: cpu0 and cpu1.

Thanks for pointing that out. An error that only someone who would type py_pip instead of py-pip would make

Building GENERIC.MP right now ...

In trying to resolve a different issue I noticed that Gnome runs separate scripts PreSession, PostLogin, PostSession etc in /etc/gdm. Perhaps XFCE has a similar PostSession script or script section that you can modify to do a clean shutdown?

I did a fair bit of digging around, but I just don't have what it takes to know which xfce4 scripts to tinker with.
