For those who have wondered just how load averages are calculated in applications such as w(1) & top(1) (everyone has at one time or another...), the OpenBSD Journal has a short article:

http://www.undeadly.org/cgi?action=a...20090715034920

...on how it is done.

Good eats!

Further 4.6 nutrition can be found in the new installer which has reorganized the installation process along with sporting auto-partitioning (Yup, you heard it here first...). A preview can be found in a recent article in The OpenBSD Journal:

Confectionary delights!

Default Of course we all love to partition our computers ourselves hehehe

I must say i do like the new installer its not bad at all and good for newcomers to openbsd. I love how you can drop to a shell to do any wireless configuration if doing an ftp install. I have always loved OpenBSD for the simplicity and quickness of its install. Thanks for making a great OS better OpenBSD team!

the new installer took me by surprise! I just installed a snapshot yesterday. the only snag I ran into was when I tried to edit an individual partition in the auto-partition scheme it wouldn't let me adjust the size beyond a certain point because of the start position or something. I guess this can't really be helped, but if the start positions were auto-adjusted depending on size that would be kind of cool.
