NetBSD 5.0 Released!
Just a heads-up to everyone who did not know....

I tried 5.0RC4 recently on my d630 laptop, works/runs flawlessly, 15 seconds to login prompt, very light and fast, acpi works great, and so and so ...
The only drawback is lack of working audio and generally old audio subsystem (comparing to FreeBSD/OSS4 functionality), maybe they will work on that on the road to 6.0/5.1. But besides audio (maybe only on my laptop) all other things works great, including 3D accelration, I really encourage to give NetBSD some test drive on you box, really great improovement.

Most of that is way over my head, but Xorg in -release sounds good. This should make a fine excuse to un-crate my red thing and hit the library for some high-speed downloading, followed by ultra-low-speed USB file copying, on Bill's platform.

I also encourage to read this presentation:
http://netbsd.org/~ad/50.pdf Seems that we have new performance leader in BSD family, at least until FreeBSD 8.0 is released.
