AutoRaise will not only put the focus on the window the mouse is in (Focus-Follows-Mouse), but raise the focused window (without clicking) if it's under another window. I wasn't able to make that happen with pekwm at the time. It's possible I missed something (although I did try to look for it carefully) or that they've added support for it since then.

I've always been a KDE fanboy, and 4.3 is pretty enjoyable so far.
Had a few problems with it as a package, but with this install I've built it from source. |

@marcolino
To be precise openbox2 is based on blackbox, openbox3 is total rewrite. ... and yes, blackbox is pretty dead right now (but it still works).

Umm, if i was asked what window manager i prefer i would answer KDE (3.x), the 4.x is taking some getting used to. I do use XFCE(mostly) and Fluxbox for minimal installs with some installs that required a GUI, never got used to Gnome at all.
Have tried many other window managers in the past but stuck to KDE/XFCE when required, did not use a GUI for many years on my servers from Linux's to BSD's (dam Windoz) ... Checking out Xmonad, seems like something i may like to use one day, thx for listing.

Hehehe TerryP
I actually use a golden toad (yes the extinct one, not the poisonus one) to interface with my "front panel" she speaks about 12 languages (not including the programming ones) and is a GREAT technician with great reporting abilities. I believe she has subcontracted a group of fleas to manipulate the data on my storage devices, internal and external, i have the updated (v 0.00-0.1) fleas version, they LOVE USB drives of all sorts ALL of my input commands are telepathically read from my MOUSE, yes a real mouse (genetically engineered by Disney) that runs back and forth upon my keyboard at my command(s). My output (video) is hallucinagetically reproduced (bufotoxin species of frog) and then optically zapped into my retinas via lightning, yes lightning very special lightning (from my frog, without licking it mind you) that ONLY reads my retinas KDE? Who needs it all jokes ....... P.S. yes i am using KDE

Fvwm. I also like TWM very much and fvwm was originally made as an augmented version of it. If TWM did a few things differently, I'd use it exclusively.
In the past I've tried Xfwm, Window Maker, all the *boxen and I don't know how many other WM.

On the G3: Enlightenment.
On the laptops: Main Fedora: KDE and LXDE depending on power consumption. On ther FreeBSD partition: KDE and fluxbox. On the second laptop: Debian: Xfce4. On the first dimension 3000: OpenBSD:KDE3, FreeBSD Xfce, Debian:KDE3. On the other dimension: Fedora is on it now with KDE3. I need to upgrade it a little more. again. |

Power consumption
Interesting. Out of curiosity, does your choice of window manager/desktop environment really make that much of a difference in battery life?

Yes. I have to share a power cord between me and my girlfriend.
Battery life is between one and two hours depending. I can run FreeBSD, with fluxbox, wired connection on a full battery for the ,longest amount. This means kazehakase not firefox and everything else minimalized. |

cwm when in OpenBSD. Ratpoison when in FreeBSD.

Fluxbox.
Found out recently that if you create a file called 'overlay' in your $HOME/.fluxbox directory and set these values:
background: aspect background.pixmap: $/pix/wallpaper/dir.jpg you don't have to use feh in your init directory and that's one less process running. I love how easy Fluxbox is to customize b/c I'm always reinstalling OpenBSD on my laptops. ( I like to begin and wire things down and experiment ) |

Almost forgot.
I installed Stella, an Atari 2600 emulator and found a site that has tons of old Atari ROMs. Here's a shot of one of my favs: Q-bert.
