Default Can not see SSD disk at installation

Hi all!
I wanted to install openBSD 6.1 on my laptop: DELL Latitude E7450
I booted from a USB-stick but my SSD disk does not show up so I can not install to harddrive.
I enclose the printout from dmesg.

The were some error message about not beeing able to read firmware.

With: sysctl hw.disknames
I only see rd0 and sd0 (usb-stick)

Please help, I do not know how to proceed.

Many thanks in advance!

Hello, and welcome.

The error message regarding firmware is for the Intel WiFi.

OpenBSD is not discovering a hard drive controller, such as a SATA controller. I do not know why. And, I do not know if it would make a difference, but you are running a BIOS version "A09" while Dell has a version "A15" for that laptop.

This is a known problem, with a resolution still in progress. There is an ongoing discussion on the misc@ mailing list. The thread begins here:

I had a similar situation with no disks available when installing to a new dell laptop recently. But changing sata mode in bios from "raid" to "ahci" did the trick.
