FreeBSD ping issue
I'm running FreeBSD 6.3 on my network server and have noticed strange behavior when trying to ping different sites. If I ping a named address I get message "cannot resolve nn.nn.nn: Host name lookup failure". However, if I ping using a numeric ip address it works every time. And when I go to one of the Win XP machines on the network, it can successfully ping either way. Any idea what's going on here?
Thanks in advance... |

What does /etc/resolv.conf show.
You may also try running: /etc/rc.d/netif restart
