samba wont operate under natd/ipfw
Hi,
I can't seem to get samba going again after installing natd & ipfw. The machine also refuses ftp, but strangely enough ssh still works. I disabled the firewall and it still wont go. So it has to be a natd issue. Has anybody run into this problem and if so what is the remedy? Thanking you in advance, Jonathan. |

Hi,
Yes samba is running on a gateway machine, one onboard and one PCI card. The command you gave me (sockstat -4 | grep smb) produced no output and nmap wont run. I have turned off the firewall and tried it (ipfw disable firewall) without any joy. The only other thing that has changed is the actual installation of natd. Thanks, Jonathan. |

I've got ftp working now
Hi,
I finally had some progress, I forgot to enable inetd during setup. By enabling this I have gained access too ftp. Now all that is missing is samba. Cheers, Jonathan. |
