Default ndis dirver for Dlink DWL-G650+ pc-card in netbsd 4.0

Hello, I'm new to BSD and have a question about the ndis-driver for netbsd.
I have installed netbsd 4.0 and recompiled the kernel with the ndis support following the man files. The problem is that when it starts up it does not recognize the pc-card and disables it.
So I wonder if the ndis driver only works for pci and not pc-cards, since it was only pci that was mentioned in the kernel configuration file. (The card works in linux with ndiswrapper. Secondly, the pc-card is discovered in Freebsd, but there the system hangs with error 12 when I try to load the ndis module).

How did you recompiled NetBSD kernel with ndis support?

Which version of FreeBSD?

DragonFly BSD and OpenBSD have acx driver for that card, so it should be easy to port it to other BSDs; {Free, Net}BSD in this case.

thank you for your reply.
I compiled it just as the instructions of the command
Code:
 man ndis
(the only thing was that I used the extra --unlik in the tar for the syssrc.tgz or else I would only get the i386 directories and not the x86) in NetBsd 4.0 No other extra options than to uncomment the ndis lines in my copy of GENERIC.
I think that the version of freebsd was 7.0 it was some weeks ago i don't have it on that computer anymore.
So it really works with open bsd? That would work just as well I guess, I just wanted to get that old laptop running again. I never considered openbsd since they don't support the ndis, but if the acx works, I will give it a go if the netbsd is not possible.
Is the documentation as user friendly in openbsd?
Is porting something I could do by myself at least when it is between bsd's?

Very user friendly(too much IMHO), just beware of OpenBSD developers (specially Theo) ...

It is not trivial to port it to FreeBSD, dunno for NetBSD.
Comparing other but same driver beetwen *BSDs could be very helpfull.

On the other hand you can find someone to do it for you ....

I looked briefly at the acx driver for Freebsd which was outside the official ports. From what I understood not everything is working with that also I have read that people using that driver for the d-link get a high temperature.

That driver is very old one and dont have anything with new one from OpenBSD/DragonFlyBSD, if you want more info about this ask sephe@ and/or test with new OpenBSD/DragonFlyBSD release if you think that I'm lying.

Everything is clearly written in AUTHORS section of driver manual page: acx(4)

hah! I'm in no position to say that other people are lying. When it comes to bsd/computers I don't even know if what I'm saying is true, let alone others. I'm in a very confused and perplexed state.
