Default Blind install ?

Hello Everybody,

I have an hp pavilion zv5000 that has a burn-out integrated video card so I can't see a thing. Right now it has Windows XP installed on it and it's not worth paying to get it fix, so I thinking of using it as a pf machine on my LAN. My question is, is it possible to wipe the drive than install FreeBSD on it, than connect to it visa my LAN so I can work with it though its terminal from another machine? I'm sure it's possible but I never done anything like it before and it would be the best thing I'll learn since learning how to set-up and work with packet filter itself.

I'm not sure where I should have post this so if it must be relocated it's fine by me.

Thanks in advance for any help.

What a coincident, I just read the last half of an possible answer just below, right here

Does an external screen work with the VGA or DVI interface?

Otherwise, use a serial console:

I would guess that this model doesn't have a serial interface, so you'll need a USB to RS232 adapter.

Thanks Carpetsmoker,

I never hear about DVI interface but I be looking in to all of this everyday for the next few weeks. I got to buy a HDD for it now because the repairman forgot to put it back in the laptop when they checked the machine ... Now they can't find it, and I just spend "ALL" of my cash on 2 more super-duper AMD's (in parts). Building them is going to be fun. One more dream to go. This old AMD laptop as a gateway/router, etc.

Thanks again. Can't wait to let you know how it went.
