Default Multiboot OpenBSD and Windows 10

Hi all,

I just purchased a new computer for work purposes with two hard drives, one with windows 10 pre loaded and second one I want to use to install OpenBSD on it. I must use windows 10 to run some engineering applications and I am an experienced OpenBSD user. I have experience in dual systems (linux) using GRUB and I used LILO many years ago. I realized there is no GRUB package for OpenBSD 64 bit, with your experience, what's the easiest and best boot manager to have a dual boot system OpenBSD and Windows 10?

Thanks,

I have a 2-disk laptop. Normal boot is OpenBSD, I boot Windows by using the BIOS/EFI alternate boot device table. On this Thinkpad, that just requires me to use F12 when I want to boot Windows.

I've seen a number of favorable reports using rEFInd
rERInd Homepage

There is also a stand-alone install option for grub2
man grub-mkstandalone

The OpenBSD FAQ looks to lean toward rEFInd for Mac's - not sure about Win10.

Not sure about bcdedit - the documentation is Win8 but the EasyBCD gui site says Win10/EFI support.

I use grub2/linux or EFI/Bios and have no personal experience with the other options. Just based on my reading, I would tend to lean towards rEFInd. It seems to be widely used, has extensive documentation and Rod Smith has an internet trail of responding to problems/questions.

I just select which drive to boot with via the bios, but neither drive have windows, the default drive, that boots normally is OpenBsd , but if I want to boot with the other, the "esp" key, gives me the boot selection, and I select the 2nd drive. The PC is a HP tower:
Code:
OS: OpenBSD 6.5 amd64
Host: Hewlett-Packard HP Compaq 8200 Elite CMT PC

One easy solution is to install an OS on the inside HD, another OS on an external USB3 HD, setting USB boot as first boot, and then...

Finally I used EasyBCD. It works great and boots OpenBSD by default successfully
