I'm trying to configure
sensorsd(8) to shutdown when my UPS loses power, but I'm having trouble with
upd(4). Initially upd0 was disappearing at random, but that was resolved by enabling the "legacy USB" setting in the BIOS.
However, now upd0 disappears when I pull the UPS's power cable to simulate an outage, and it doesn't come back when AC is restored. Is there something I can do to re-detect the ups? (besides rebooting...
